Surveys

    Yacht & Boat Buying Consultancy

Buying consultancy goes beyond the classic pre-purchase survey: we accompany you from the first idea, through search and shortlisting, to negotiation and handover. The survey is one — important — building block, not the only one.

    Consultancy vs. survey

A survey is a technical finding on a specific yacht at a point in time. Consultancy is the surrounding decision process: which type fits area, crew, experience and budget? Which yards, vintages and models are candidates? Which boat from the shortlist should be surveyed at all?

A clean consultancy saves unnecessary attendances and prevents decisions that are expensive to correct later.

    Building blocks

Depending on the situation we combine:

    • Requirements profile (area, crew, comfort, maintenance budget, refit appetite)
    • Market screening & model comparison
    • Pre-screening of brochures, photos and broker information
    • Pre-inspections before a full pre-purchase survey
    • On-board pre-purchase survey (separate module)
    • Sea trial accompaniment
    • Negotiation and contract review support
    • Handover and first-maintenance recommendations

    Who benefits

First-time and returning buyers, international buyers, sailing-area changes, demanding refit projects, institutional buyers (charter, foundations, clubs). Experienced owners benefit from an independent second perspective.

    Independence

We do not broker yachts or take commissions and are not affiliated with yards or brokers. You pay only our consultancy / survey fee.

    Frequently asked questions

Is consultancy included in the survey?
No. The survey is a concrete condition assessment; consultancy adds requirements, market, negotiation and contract support. They can be combined.
    What does consultancy cost?
Modular. Short clarification calls are compact; broader engagement is hourly or fixed fee. You receive an estimate before commissioning.
Do you also consult on selling?
Yes — market screening, valuation, documentation and handover are equally relevant for sellers.
Do you recommend yards and models?
We name strengths, typical weak points and refit effort of common series, but stay methodically neutral on specific sellers.
